Whatsapp status Murray, Hopkins lead Cardinals past Eagles 33-26

Image
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- — DeAndre Hopkins had a rare fumble early in Sunday's game and immediately knew the problem. Arizona's leading receiver usually wears gloves that are size 5 XL, but the ones he tried early in the game were only 4 XL. Once that problem was rectified, the three-time All-Pro was back to filling up the highlight reel. Hopkins and his huge hands had a season-high 169 yards receiving — including a spectacular 20-yard touchdown catch for the go-ahead score — and the Cardinals improved their playoff position by beating the Philadelphia Eagles 33-26 on Sunday. “I don't even know why I tried to put them on," Hopkins said, grinning about his 4 XL-glove experiment. “But I won't wear those gloves anymore.” Arizona (8-6) won its second straight game as it tries to make the postseason for the first time since 2015. The Cardinals are in third place in their division behind the Rams and Seahawks and would currently be the No. 7 and final seed in the NFC playoff...

Whatsapp status Jackson leads surging Ravens to 40-14 rout of Jaguars

Image
BALTIMORE -- — No drama, no comeback and, thankfully, no cramps. Instead, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens enjoyed a feel-good, confidence-building blowout that boosted their chances of reaching the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Jackson threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score, and Baltimore built a 26-point halftime lead against helpless Jacksonville in a 40-14 victory Sunday. The Ravens (9-5) have won three straight following a three-game skid and remained in the hunt to secure one of three AFC wild-card spots. “We just got to keep focus on what we have in front of us, and pray next week the (teams) we need to lose, lose," Jackson said. After Jackson returned from a bout with cramps to deliver a thrilling 47-42 win in Cleveland on Monday night, the Ravens had no desire for any angst at home against Jacksonville (1-13). Baltimore got the desired result, taking a 26-0 lead in the second quarter before cruising to the finish to hand the Jaguars their 13th...

Whatsapp status Mahomes' theatrics highlight Chiefs' 32-29 win over Saints

Image
NEW ORLEANS -- — Patrick Mahomes' repertoire of side-arm throws, basketball-style push passes, underhanded flips and renowned improvisation humbled yet another highly regarded defense. Mahomes passed for 254 yards and three touchdowns, and the Kansas City Chiefs extended their winning streak to nine games with a 32-29 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. “Patrick is more impressive than I could imagine,” said running back Le'Veon Bell, who joined the Chiefs in mid-October and scored a 12-yard touchdown on an option pitch from Mahomes. "He’s even more impressive in person. ... I’m fortunate to be his teammate.” The Kansas City defense did its part to spoil Drew Brees' return from rib fractures and a punctured lung that had kept the record-setting passer out four games. While Brees passed for 234 yards and three TDs, he completed fewer than half of his passes and was intercepted for just the fourth time this season. “I wasn’t real efficient, obviously, in the ...

Babar’s out, but there is still hope for Pakistan

Image
KARACHI : Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is out of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand with a thumb injury, and this may prove to be the final nail in Men in Green’s coffin who were already not a 100 per cent after visiting the no-Covid haven. Pakistani players already had a lot of baggage to deal with as they had to quarantine in isolation for 14 days, where they were warned after protocol breaches, lost the exemption to start training after just 10 days in isolation, saw no less than 10 fellow players test positive for coronavirus – all this mental exhaustion even before the series had started. And now with their leader out of the T20Is and the vice-captain Shadab Khan also doubtful to participate, there won’t be a lot of confidence left their tank. Babar’s omission doesn’t only deprive Pakistan of a young and able captain on the field, but all batsmen will now be looking at each other so as to ascertain that who will take his place as the anchor at the opening spot or...
